  • Overcoming the Pain of Ovarian Cysts

    One of the most dreaded symptoms of any health condition is pain. The most common areas where you will experience ovarian cyst pain is in your abdominal and pelvic areas. Pain during intercourse or a bowel movement is also very noticeable. Also, if the cyst is pushing other nearby tissues you will notice it with even the slightest of movements. If the cyst is ruptured or twisted the pain will be sharper and more intense and it is time to call your doctor. Do not ignore or try to "just live with" ovarian cyst pain as it will be a great distraction from your daily activities.

    There are many natural ways that can be used in order to relieve the pain. You can take a hot compress and place it on your lower back whenever you feel pain. Try taking a hot pad and placing it over your pelvic area when it aches. Another option is to soak the affected area in a warm bath or hot tub. You can also opt for a cold compress for pain relief, however, make sure that you use a cloth pad and put the ice inside. Do not place ice directly on the affected areas.

    Another effective way to provide pain relief from ovarian cysts is healthy eating and the use of natural diuretics. as an example, carrots, lettuce, and cucumbers are very good diuretics. You can also have some herbal teas instead of coffee in order to avoid stimulation of pain. Mint, chamomile and raspberry teas are great choices. In addition, avoid estrogen-rich foods like red meat and dairy.

    Try to eat any food that is made up of parsley for example sandwiches. You can also include tomatoes regularly to help alleviate the pain. You should refrain from alcohol and iron supplements consumption as well unless advised by your doctor.

    Drinking plenty of water can also help in the relief of ovarian cysts pain. Whenever you feel bored of drinking plain water, add some lemon or lime and a mint leaf. Empty your bladder on a regular basis in order to prevent pelvic discomfort.

    Lastly, try limiting your movements to help relieve the pain. Wear some loose clothes as this eliminates the pressure points that irritate your ovarian cyst and increases the pain.

    You can make use of the above mentioned natural ways to provide relief from ovarian cysts pain. However, do not fail to inform your health care provider about what you are doing and what your are taking. Do not start taking them without notifying your physician in order to avoid interactions with your medical routine.

    Moreover, always monitor the development of your cysts in order to prevent further complications that may worsen the pain.

    Remember that prevention of complications is as important as the relief of ovarian cysts pain.
